Foster a positive mental attitude. Remember that everything happens for a reason
and if we pay close attention we will find that whatever happens, happens for the
better. Think pure thoughts, minimize television viewing, and avoid books and magazines
that taint the mind.
Avoid non-vegetarian food. Don't overindulge in food and drink. Keep good company
and sleep before 22:30. Rise early, between 04:00 and 06:00 in the morning as often
as possible. Stale, oily, smelly, and fermented foods must be avoided.
Follow a light exercise program. Make a habit of breathing deeply as often as possible.
With the right type of breathing, old stale air will be expelled from the lungs.
Eat well and always drink clean water.
Serve others whenever possible. Develop a love for humanity and creation. Be in awe
with all you see around you.
3. Food and Feelings
Don't worry, hurry or eat too much curry. Don’t eat when you are upset, worried or
anxious, because your digestive system will react by getting upset as well. If emotions
are the reason that you are upset, read further: Emotions are explosions of misunderstanding
that you can clearly perceive in the body. Emotions always have something very intense
and dramatic to them. It takes hold of you completely and pull you away from your
spiritual centre. Emotions that are not dealt with right away damage your physical
body, e.g. Anger hurts the liver and heart, sadness the lungs, fear the kidneys,
The mind-body connection is well established in scientific circles. This means that
ones emotions cause chemical reactions in ones body. For example, ANGER creates toxins
which may affect major organs such as the LIVER and HEART.
Determine your body type and make sure that you keep in balance by following the
guidelines as dictated by your body type.
